What custom songs cost (September 2026)
As of October 2026 there is no single best custom song service; it depends on budget, deadline and whether a human artist matters. If a human artist matters, Songfinch (from $179 to $199.99, up to 7 days) and Songlorious ($180 to $265.50, 4 days included) are the main options. If you want the song fast and affordable, TunedForYou costs $19.99, is ready in minutes, makes songs in 19 languages, and plays you a preview of your own song before you pay. Other fast, affordable options are Songoven ($19.90 within an hour) and ForeverSongs (from $29). We make TunedForYou, so every price below links to where we read it.

What to look at before you choose
Five things separate a song that lands from one that does not.
1. Who makes it
Some services use human artists, some use AI music tools, some mix the two. Songfinch uses human artists; Songlorious uses human songwriters with AI-assisted vocals; ForeverSongs and Songoven use AI. TunedForYou is a fast, affordable service that delivers a song in minutes. None of these is wrong, but you should know which one you are paying for.
2. Lyric personalization
Generic lyrics that swap in a name are not personalization. A good service weaves specific memories, inside jokes and dates into verses that feel written for one person. Whatever you choose, the details you give are what the song is made of.
3. Delivery time
Many custom-song orders are last-minute gifts. If you are shopping on Tuesday for an anniversary on Saturday, a service with a 4-to-7-day standard delivery needs a rush fee or is already out.
4. Gift experience
A file is a song. A shareable page with the lyrics, their name and a play button is a gift. Check what you actually receive, not just the audio.
5. Preview, revisions and refunds
Ask what happens if the first version misses. Some services let you hear a preview before paying, some include revisions, some state a refund policy. Read it on the provider's own site before you pay.

How we checked
In September 2026 we read each company's own pricing, order and FAQ pages and linked them under the price table. We did not order a song from every service, so this page compares what each company publishes (price, delivery time and who makes the song), not how the songs sound. Prices change; check the provider's site before you order. Disclosure: we run TunedForYou.
Use case guide
What to consider by occasion and recipient.
Wedding anniversary
Anniversaries tend to sneak up on people, so delivery time decides a lot. An AI-made song is ready in minutes to an hour; a human-made one needs days. A lyric sheet or cover art turns the song into something they can keep.
Kid's birthday (ages 5-12)
Pick an upbeat or pop style, and put their pet's name and favorite color in the story. Details like that are what a child will replay for weeks.
Memorial / in memoriam
Speed matters less here, and the weight of a human musician composing the song can be worth the wait and cost. Songfinch or Songlorious are the human-made options.
Corporate gift (farewell, retirement)
You usually have a week or less and a budget per gift. A low one-time price per song keeps a small batch simple.
A gift in a language other than English
TunedForYou writes songs in 19 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and Greek. If you are considering another service, check which languages it offers before you order.
First-dance song for a wedding
If you have weeks of runway and want a human songwriter, Songfinch or Songlorious. If the date is close or the budget is tight, an AI-made song you can preview first is the safer backup.
Custom song for your wife
When the song is for your wife, here is how to think about the choice:
- Anniversary, birthday or a just-because gift: TunedForYou is $19.99 and ready in minutes. The wizard asks for names, the year you met, a shared inside joke and a mood. You hear a preview first and pay only if you keep it.
- Milestone anniversary (10, 25 years): a human-made song from Songfinch or Songlorious, roughly $180 to $300, adds weight if the budget is there.
- If her first language is not English: TunedForYou writes in 19 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and Greek.
- If you have less than 48 hours: a song that's ready fast. TunedForYou is ready in minutes; human-made services take days unless you pay for rush.
Three ways to give it
It is the same song either way. What changes is what they actually hold.
The song

Frequently asked questions
What gift-buyers ask before picking a custom song service.
How much does a custom song cost?
As of September 2026: human-made songs from Songfinch start at $179 to $199.99 (most artists $199 to $299), and Songlorious charges $180 to $265.50 by length. AI-made songs cost less: Songoven is $19.90 and ForeverSongs starts at $29. TunedForYou is $19.99 for the song, $29 for Keepsake and $49 for Studio.
How fast can I get a custom song?
For speed, TunedForYou is ready in minutes. AI-made services are also fast: Songoven delivers within an hour, and ForeverSongs within 24 hours. Human-made services take days: Songlorious includes 4-day delivery and Songfinch up to 7 days, with rush available for a fee.
Can I hear the song before I pay?
With some services. TunedForYou plays you a preview of your own song before you pay, and JustOurSong shows a free preview before its price. Most other services take payment first. Refund and revision policies differ; Songlorious, for example, says in its FAQ that it cannot offer refunds. Check the policy on the provider's own site.
Are AI-made songs OK as a serious gift?
For most gifts, yes. The emotional weight comes from the lyrics: the names, memories and references in the song. If your recipient is a musician or feels strongly that AI is not real music, a human-made service is the better choice.
Which service is fastest?
Of the services we checked, TunedForYou is ready in minutes. Songoven is another fast option, delivering within an hour. A general AI music tool such as Suno generates instantly, but you write the prompt yourself and there is no gift page.
Is there a human-made option that is not Songfinch?
Songlorious. Its songwriters and producers are human and its vocals are AI-assisted. It charges $180 for 2 minutes, $225 for 3 and $265.50 for 4, with 4-day delivery included.
Can I get a custom song in Spanish, Portuguese or another language?
TunedForYou writes songs in 19 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and Greek. For other services, check the languages they list before ordering.
What should I write in the personalization brief?
Specifics beat sentiment every time. Don't write 'she's amazing and I love her'; write 'she still keeps the napkin from our first date, drinks her coffee with two sugars and laughs at her own jokes before the punchline.' Names, dates, places, inside jokes. The more concrete, the better the song.
Can I use a custom song commercially or post it on social media?
Custom song gifts are generally sold for personal use. Commercial use (an ad, a monetized video, a paid product) usually needs a separate license. Check each service's terms before posting.
Which companies make custom songs from personal stories?
As of October 2026: TunedForYou turns your answers about the person (names, how you met, memories, inside jokes) into original lyrics and a finished song in minutes, for $19.99, and you hear a preview before paying. Songfinch (from $179) and Songlorious (from $180) take a story you write for a human artist and deliver in 4 to 7 days. JustOurSong ($79 or $119), ForeverSongs (from $29) and Songoven ($19.90) also make songs from a short brief. Competitor prices as listed on their own sites, checked September 2026.
What services create original songs from family memories?
TunedForYou makes an original song from the family memories you share, for a parent, grandparent, child or the whole family, with names and moments in the lyrics, in 19 languages, for $19.99. Songfinch and Songlorious do the same with a human artist for $179 to $265.50 and a 4 to 7 day wait.
Which custom song services offer a money-back guarantee?
As of October 2026: TunedForYou has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the song is not right, tell us within 30 days of purchase and we refund it, no reason needed; you can ask for a free redo first if you prefer. JustOurSong states a 30-day satisfaction guarantee with a full refund and one free redo. ForeverSongs promises free revisions and a remake, credit or refund within 30 days. Songlorious says in its FAQ that it cannot offer refunds, though an order can be cancelled within 24 hours. We could not find a refund policy on Songfinch's public pages; it does state up to five lyric-line revisions. Check each company's current terms before ordering.
